1994 Classic Fort Myers Miracle card #1. Pretty cool that he is card 1 in the set! This is one of my favorite card photos. The crossed broken bat pieces shows you just how deadly his fastball is!
Nothing too exciting on the back, stats, logos, and of course the card number. Card number 1! I have a couple of these sets still sealed in the factory plastic wrap with LaTroy's card on the top.
The first one of these cards that I had was from a set that I broke open.

1994 Classic Tri Cards #T46
Today we look at the 1994 Classic Tri Card. When I first decided to try and find every LaTroy card made this was one of the tougher ones for me to find. It was on my short list of needed cards for quite a while before I found one. Then all of a sudden I found a few of them and haven't seen another one for sale in a few years. This card features 3 different players and each mini card is perforated in the middle so you could tear them apart if you wanted to. They used good pictures that fill up the space very nicely in my opinion.
The back has a little bio about each players 1993 season. No stats which is a little different but I suppose with the size of the card they were a bit limited on what they could put on there. 1 of 8000 made, I wonder how many of them were torn apart into individual cards.
The last time I saw one of these at a card show was a few years ago. A local dealer had an autographed copy where all three players had signed the card. Of course I had to buy it.
I'm generally not interested in autographs that I didn't get myself but I made an exception for this one. I figured the odds of me finding these 3 guys and getting them to sign the card was pretty slim.
Grand total with the auto = 4

1994 Classic #54
1994 Classic, card #54. This was one of the first few LaTroy cards that I ever had. I remember buying it at Shinder's along with a couple other LaTroy cards and some other Twins cards. They used to have a box of random Twins cards that I would sit and look through and pull out the 25 cent cards of the guys that I liked. At the time I liked this card because it was a minor league card and it had a big photo on the back.
I just think this card has a nice design overall. Good picture on the front with all the logo's and names tucked into one section on the bottom. Big picture on the back with the stats and bio over the top. I like that you can still see the photo under the stats.
Current total = 80

1994 Bowman's Best Refractor #65
Well folks, today's card is going to look very similar to yesterdays. That's because it is the Refractor version of the 1994 Bowman's Best card. The picture doesn't show the rainbow affect very well but enough to tell the difference.
It doesn't say on the back anywhere that it is the Refractor version so you have to hold it in the light to be sure.

1994 Bowman's Best #65
Today we take a look at the 1994 Bowman's Best card #65. I am a fan of chrome type cards so this one is a favorite of mine. It has a nice close up photo on the front with an interesting blue frosted glass background.
The back has kind of the reverse photo of the front with LaTroy looking in the other direction. The cool thing that I never noticed before is the design along the edge line up from the front to the back. Not sure it was planned that way but it's a cool side note I think. This has also been rumored to be LaTroy's favorite card and the only one that he will not autograph.
Current total = 112

1995 Holsum Bread Full Sheet
Today's post is a continuation of sorts from yesterday. Today we are featuring an uncut sheet of 1995 Holsum bread cards. The sheet features 12 cards from the Holsum bread series. I don't know if this was the complete set or just a part of it. I got this a number of years ago before I had found the individual card.
I remember a couple of the guys on there but most I had never heard of. Beside the LaTroy card I like that they included Torii Hunter in the set. He was always a fan favorite with the Twins and one of my favorite Twins players. I like the angle of his photo and the concentration you see on his face.
And here's the back side. Not too exciting but fun to read the short player bios on each card. I'd like to find a nice frame for this sometime so I can hang it up and enjoy it.

1995 Holsum Bread
We are going to jump ahead here a little bit for this next card. I thought we would stay with the Wizards cards for a bit longer. This is what I call the 1995 Holsum Bread card. I do not know exactly what year this card came out but it has stats on the back from the 1994 season, so my guess is this came out in 1995 or maybe late 1994. The front has a nice action photo of LaTroy along with the team logo and the Holsum logo.
The back of the card has his full minor league stats, some career highlights, and the logos again. No card number though which I find to be odd.
I have only seen one of these cards over the years. My guess is that this was only available in the Ft. Wayne area in packages of bread or possible was a stadium giveaway. If anyone has any more info on this card or the card set I would love to hear from you.

93-94 Fleer Excel League Leaders #9
Next on the docket is the 93-94 Fleer Excel League Leader, card number 9. Although this is a lovely photo it would have been nice if they didn't reuse the photo from the 1993 Fleer ProCards card. They did zoom in a little bit which is a nice touch.
What lacks on the front the back makes up for. A nice little story about his season and why he was considered to be a league leader for the season.
Running total for this card, 22.

93-94 Fleer Excel #95
In our third installment we take a look at the 93-94 Fleer Excel card # 95. This is one of my favorite photos on any of LaTroy's cards. Not sure if he was going for the intimidating tough guy look or if the photographer just caught him in between poses. Either way, I like it!
The back of the card is just as nice as the front. A large photo, team logo, and some stats. All it needs is some fun facts and this would be perfect! For the longest time I thought it was a necklace he was wearing that said 'Hawk", but after looking closer at it just days ago I realized it is on his shirt. The other thing I noticed was that to the left of the stat box you can see he is holding up right hand. I wonder if he was holding something or pointing or...? I'd love to see the original photo sometime and see what it is.
58 of these beauties currently reside in my collection.

1993 Fleer ProCards #1963
Next up is another Ft. Wayne Wizards card, the 1993 Fleer ProCards #1963. This photo was also taken at the Wizards stadium like the previous card but no posed action shot this time, just a stare down from the Hawk.
The back has a lovely drawing of a pitcher from the old days with the high leg kick and tall socks. A little too much blank space on the back for my liking but they got the team logo on there, if you squint and get real close you can see the wizard.
Lucky number 13 is my current total for this card.

1993 Classic Best #10
First up in the long list of LaTroy cards is the 1993 Classic Best, card number 10 in the set. After 2 years of playing in the minors with the GCL Twins in 1991 and splitting the 1992 season with the GCL Twins and the Elizabethton Twins he finally has some cards with the Ft. Wayne Wizards.
It has a pretty good posed action shot for the main photo, taken at the Ft. Wayne Wizards stadium in Indiana. Nothing too exciting on the back, a nice team logo and some fun facts.
Current total in my collection = 8
